Where and What to Eat in Hua Hin

Nothing less than a feast awaits for your taste buds in Hua Hin… Leaving the cooking to someone else is always an important part of a holiday experience, and the variety and quality of restaurants in and around Hua Hin will ensure that your experience is a memorable one.

Hua Hin still has enough fishermen around to provide a steady supply of fresh seafood for its restaurants and those in neighbouring Cha-Am and Pranburi. Traditional Thai food is, of course, served everywhere, including food stalls along the beachfront and in Hua Hin\\\\\\\'s well-known Night Market.

There are numerous dining spots serving Western, Indian and Japanese food and for those looking for a drink after the sun goes down, there is an ample supply of bars and pubs, quite few with live music. In addition, many hotel bars and lobby lounges feature live entertainment. All the hotels and resorts have restaurants, and these range from top-notch specialty affairs with international cuisine, to light meals of the Thai and Western varieties.

Highly recommended are the buffet spreads laid on by top hotels for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and they’re definitely worth the expense since you’ll get to sample an enormous variety of Thai, Asian and Western food. At some venues, these buffets consist of open cooking stations and often offer live entertainment such as traditional Thai music and dancing.

    Khao Takiab Restaurants

Where and What to Eat in Khao Takiab

The number of places to eat in Koh Takiab is rapidly growing. This up-and-coming area not only has resort developments in the pipeline, which inevitably bring restaurants, but an increasing number of expats and locals are choosing to open up here, outside of central Hua Hin. At the time of writing the dining scene was varied enough to please a diverse pool of appetites and as in most eateries in this province, seafood rules supreme. Other than the array of beachside dining joints there is an Italian, a good few Thai places and all the international dining that comes with upscale resorts. Just 10 Kilometres out of Hua Hin, the only major difference between the dining scenes is Koh Takiab’s lack of fast food chains and street food vendors, otherwise everything you can get in Hua Hin you can get here, in more peaceful surroundings.

    Kum Koon

    La Mer

Probably the most famous restaurant in this small area, La Mer is perched on Koh Takiab Mountain. Just a five-minute walk downhill from the temple, it scores good points for both the food and view. As a general rule the number of Thais eating in a restaurant is usually a good indicator as to how good the food is. The seafood is definitely worth a trip up the mountain, lovely and fresh as with most quality seafood restaurants, depending on the dish, is priced by weight
